The International Trade Administration frequently issues notices on antidumping and countervailing duty orders, investigations, etc. which Broker Power considers to be "minor” in importance as they concern actions that occur after an order is issued, neither announce nor cause any changes to an order’s duty rates, scope, affected firms, or effective period, etc.

Broker Power is now issuing weekly summary reports highlighting the most active textile and apparel tariff preference levels1 from U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s “Quota Weekly Commodity Status Report.” BP’s weekly report also lists the TRQ commodities on CBP’s weekly “TRQ/TPL Threshold to Fill List.”

U.S. District Judge William Pauley in Manhattan granted CEA’s request for a 60-day extension to June 14 of the deadline by which CE makers can reinstate their motion for a preliminary injunction to stop New York City’s e-waste program from taking effect. “The parties have been actively engaged in settlement discussions and believe that an extension of this deadline would facilitate continued settlement discussions among the parties,” CEA attorney Michael Murphy told Pauley in a letter. Thursday is the deadline that the Manhattan federal court gave CEA and the ITI Council back in February to file papers reinstating their motion for a preliminary injunction to stop the New York City e-waste program from taking effect. CEA and ITI have been involved in settlement talks with the city and its co-defendant, the Natural Resources Defense Council. None of the parties has been heard from since U.S. District Judge William Pauley issued his Feb. 5 order suspending the injunction motion and giving the sides at least until April 15 to negotiate an agreement. CEA, ITI and the NRDC all have repeatedly declined comment on the talks, citing the confidentiality of the discussions. “The parties are continuing settlement discussions” and have asked the court for a 60-day deadline extension for reinstating the injunction motion, a CEA spokeswoman said Wednesday.
