Cynthia Stewart will take over as assistant port director for trade operations at the Port of San Francisco, said CBP in an information notice. Stewart, previously assistant port director for tactical operations, will continue in her previous role, assuming direct leadership for both tactical and trade operations, said the notice. “This realignment will be largely transparent to the trade community as port employees will continue to service the public as currently established,” said CBP San Francisco.

CBP is putting together a Drug Enforcement Administration import working group to consider the technical requirements necessary for DEA to take part in the International Trade Data System, said CBP in a CSMS message (here). The working group, to be part of the Trade Support Network, "will consist of members of the international trade community, including trade software developers, that import commodities into the United States that are regulated by the DEA," as well as officials from DEA and CBP, it said.
