CBP's Stewart Takes Over as Trade Assistant Port Director at San Francisco

Cynthia Stewart will take over as assistant port director for trade operations at the Port of San Francisco, said CBP in an information notice. Stewart, previously assistant port director for tactical operations, will continue in her previous role, assuming direct leadership for both tactical and trade operations, said the notice. “This realignment will be largely transparent to the trade community as port employees will continue to service the public as currently established,” said CBP San Francisco.

Export Compliance Daily combines U.S. export control news, foreign border import regulation and policy developments into a single daily information service that reliably informs its trade professional readers about important current issues affecting their operations.

The realignment takes place as part of the transition of the assistant port director-trade position into the Apparel, Footwear & Textiles Center of Excellence and Expertise, said the information notice. CBP recently named Eric Batt director of the textiles and apparel CEE in San Francisco, Elva Muneton as head of the Electronics CEE in Los Angeles, and Joanne Colonnello to lead the Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare & Chemicals CEE in New York. “Selections for the remaining seven CEEs will be forthcoming as the CEE initiative continues to roll out at an accelerated pace throughout [fiscal year] 2016,” said CBP San Francisco in the information notice.
