SVS Sound is planning its first in-wall subwoofer and its first product to be sold exclusively through authorized dealers, CEO Gary Yacoubian told Consumer Electronics Daily via a Zoom call from the company’s CES suite at the Venetian Thursday.
Dolby Labs violated the Sherman Antitrust Act when it reneged on its promises to ATSC to license its Dolby AC-4 audio codec patents for NextGenTV on fair, reasonable and nondiscriminatory (FRAND) terms, alleged LG Electronics in a heavily redacted memorandum of law in support of its motion for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction against Dolby, as posted Thursday in U.S. District Court in Manhattan in docket 1:22-cv-42. The court granted LG’s Dec. 23 application to file its complaint against Dolby under seal (see 2112240001), and the docket says the court locked the sealed complaint in a vault Tuesday.

The Commerce Department issued the preliminary results of its antidumping duty administrative review on circular welded carbon-quality steel pipe (CWP) from the United Arab Emirates (A-520-807). In the final results of this review, Commerce will set assessment rates for subject merchandise from the three companies under review entered Dec. 1, 2019, through Nov. 30, 2020.
The Commerce Department issued the final results of the antidumping duty administrative review on finished carbon steel flanges from Spain (A-469-815). These final results will be used to set final assessments of AD duties on importers for subject merchandise entered June 1, 2019, through May 31, 2020.
The Commerce Department issued the preliminary results of its antidumping duty administrative review on welded line pipe from South Korea (A-580-876). The agency preliminarily set zero percent AD duty rate for SeAH Steel Corporation and a 1.93% rate for Hyundai Steel. Rates calculated in this review will be used to set assessment rates for importers of subject merchandise from these producers and exporters that was entered December 2019 through November 2020.
The Commerce Department issued the preliminary results of a countervailing duty administrative review of crystalline silicon photovoltaic cells, whether or not assembled into modules, from China (C-570-980). This review covers subject merchandise from the exporters under review entered during the period Jan. 1, 2019, through Dec. 31, 2019.

The Commerce Department has issued the preliminary results of its antidumping duty administrative review on refillable stainless steel kegs (kegs) from China (A-570-093). The agency preliminarily assigned the mandatory respondent, Guangzhou Ulix Industrial & Trading Co., Ltd., a zero percent AD rate. If this rate is confirmed in the final results, Commerce would not assess AD duties for subject merchandise from Ulix entered between Dec. 13, 2019, and Nov. 30, 2020.
