The International Trade Administration has issued an AD duty order on light-walled rectangular pipe and tube (LWRP) from Korea.
Electronic Arts paid $30 million in cash, including transaction costs, to buy certain assets from Hands-On Mobile May 29, EA disclosed in a 10-Q filing with the SEC Monday. EA also paid $15 million in cash, including transaction costs, to buy all the outstanding shares of ThreeSF and its Rupture social gaming network, EA said in the filing. EA announced the Hands-On Mobile deal in May and the ThreeSF purchase in June (WID June 5 p8), but didn’t provide the prices then. Separately, EA didn’t respond to a request for comment after NFL Hall of Famer Jim Brown sued it and Sony Computer Entertainment America in New York for unspecified damages, claiming a character in the Madden NFL games was based on him without his permission. Brown also sought a preliminary and permanent court order to block the sale of games including his likeness. EA is preparing to release the latest entry in its Madden series for Sony game systems and rival platforms. SCEA declined to comment on the suit.

Lockheed Martin and Thales Alenia Space will compete to design and build Iridium Satellite’s next-generation system, Iridium said. Iridium chose Lockheed Martin and Thales Alenia Space for their “initial, innovative constellation design concepts” and preliminary cost estimates to build and launch, Iridium said. Iridium will take nine months to make a final selection, it said.

Digimarc will keep its watermarking business for intellectual property. On July 10, it released preliminary information for the quarter. Revenue was expected to be $30 million, including $5 million from content watermarking.
