The International Trade Administration has issued the preliminary results of a new shipper review of the antidumping duty order on certain frozen warmwater shrimp (A-552-802), which lists a proposed estimated cash deposit rate of zero percent for Thong Thuan Company Limited and its subsidiary company, Thong Thuan Seafood Company Limited, as manufacturer/exporter.
The International Trade Administration is initiating an antidumping duty changed circumstances review of low enriched uranium (LEU) from France (A-427-818) in order to determine whether the circumstances described by the petitioner support an extension of the 18-month period to re-export the specified entry of LEU that is currently under the 18-month exclusion from the AD duty order.
Census sources state that the Automated Export System mainframe, AESDirect, and AESPcLink have been updated for the 2012 Schedule B export codes, as well as the preliminary 2012 HTS import codes that took effect on January 1, 2012. While the Schedule B export codes reflect the January 1 WCO-recommended HS changes; the HTS import codes will be updated for the WCO changes no sooner than February 3. Sources add that there will be another 30-day grace period for the HTS WCO import code changes at that time.

The International Trade Administration has initiated new shipper reviews for the antidumping duty order on fresh garlic from China (A-570-831) at the request of Foshan Fuyi Food Co., Ltd. and Qingdao May Carrier Import & Export Co., Ltd. The ITA will determine whether each company is eligible for an estimated AD cash deposit rate other than the China-wide entity rate they currently receive ($4.71 per kilogram) when exporting the goods of specific producers.

On December 30, 2011, Whirlpool Corporation filed antidumping duty petitions against residential clothes washers from South Korea and Mexico, and a countervailing duty petition against the same products from South Korea, with the International Trade Administration and the International Trade Commission.
International Trade Commission officials have issued three corrections to its recently released list of Harmonized Tariff Schedule statistical changes (at the 9th and 10th digit level) approved by the 484(f) Committee, that take effect on January 1, 2012. The corrections affect light amber honey and certain AC generators (alternators). As of January 3, the ITC's preliminary 2012 HTS only reflects correct information for the AC generators.
