The U.S. Supreme Court’s questions and responses to oral arguments Tuesday in ABC v. Aereo will provide some insight into whether the court will side with broadcasters or streaming TV service Aereo when it issues a decision likely this summer, said several attorneys we canvassed, one of whom is actually involved in the case.
The PS4 was the top-selling videogame system in the U.S. in March for the third straight month, according to NPD’s latest sales data. Sony’s console outsold the Xbox One despite continued supply weakness on the PS4 and also despite last month’s release of the Electronic Arts-published Titanfall, a console exclusive for Microsoft’s system that was the country’s best-selling videogame in March. Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) didn’t say Friday how many PS4s were sold in the U.S. last month and NPD stopped providing hardware sales data to reporters a while ago.

The Commerce Department tentatively found Navneet Education Limited is the successor company to Navneet Publications (India) Ltd. for the purposes of antidumping duty liability, in the preliminary results of a changed circumstances review on lined paper products from India (A-533-843). Commerce said the company underwent a simple name change, and its corporate operations weren’t affected. If Commerce adopts these preliminary findings in its final results, subject merchandise from Navneet Education will enter at the 11.01% AD duty cash deposit rate currently assigned to Navneet Publications.
A countervailing duty cash deposit requirement will take effect April 18 for imports of 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane from China (C-570-999), as the Commerce Department found illegal subsidization of Chinese producers in its preliminary determination. The agency assigned CV duty cash deposit rates ranging from 1.35 to 28.74 percent for exporters of the refrigerant gas for motor vehicle air conditioning systems, also known as R-134a. CBP will implement these CV duty cash deposit requirements soon.

Commerce said the company underwent a simple name change, and its corporate operations weren’t affected. If Commerce adopts these preliminary findings in its final results, subject merchandise from Shandong Linglong will enter at the 12.83% AD duty cash deposit rate currently assigned to Leo Rubber.
The Commerce Department will require antidumping duty cash deposits on imports of chlorinated isocyanurates from Japan, it said in an April 16 fact sheet. The agency found AD duty rates of 54.79% to 109.56% for Japanese companies in its preliminary determination. The final determination in this investigation is currently due in August. ITT will have more details on the preliminary rates when Commerce publishes its preliminary determination in the Federal Register.
