The Commerce Department published the final results of the antidumping duty administrative review on certain cold-rolled steel flat products from South Korea (A-580-881). These final results will be used to set final assessments of AD duties on importers for subject merchandise entered Sept. 1, 2022, through Aug. 31, 2023.
The Commerce Department is setting new antidumping duty cash deposit requirements for imports of vanillin from China (A-570-172), after finding sales at less than fair value by Chinese producers in the preliminary determination of its AD investigation. Suspension of liquidation and cash deposit requirements take effect for entries on or after Jan. 16.

The Commerce Department released notices in the Federal Register on its recently initiated antidumping and countervailing duty investigations on active anode material from China (A-570-194/C-570-195). The CVD investigation covers entries Jan. 1, 2023, through Dec. 31, 2023. The AD investigation covers entries April 1, 2024, through Sept. 30, 2024.
California Attorney General Rob Bonta (D) opposed an injunction on a state law that would regulate addictive social media feeds for minors, arguing the organization didn't prove that the challenged provisions in the law are unconstitutional. In November, NetChoice sued Bonta over SB-976, alleging it undermines free speech and privacy principles.
Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody (R) on Monday asked to dismiss the Computer and Communications Industry Association's (CCIA) complaint against a kids social media bill. Also, Florida opposed the plaintiff’s motion for a preliminary injunction.
Indian aluminum sheet exporter Hindalco Industries brought a complaint Jan. 10 to the Court of International Trade, saying the Commerce Department wrongly found to be specific programs by which Hindalco had been provided bauxite mining rights and coal and bauxite by the government of India for less-than-adequate remuneration (Hindalco Industries v. United States, CIT # 24-00234).
The Commerce Department is beginning an anti-circumvention inquiry on allegations that standard steel welded wire mesh made in the U.S. using low-carbon steel wire from Mexico is circumventing the antidumping and countervailing duty orders on standard steel welded wire mesh from Mexico (A-201-853/C-201-854), the agency said in a notice.
