XM will debut a GPS-based “personal weather tracking system” at CES, it said Wed. The XM technology, to reach market mid-2007, tracks real-time weather between a driver’s location and destination, XM said. XM developed the technology with partner Baron Services, it said. XM and Baron offer professional weather services for emergency responders and private planes and boats. “You're not just getting the temperature and the forecast for a city. You get the weather that will impact your specific journey, and this information is constantly being updated,” said XM Vp-Advanced Applications Rod Mackenzie. The new service builds on XM’s NavTraffic, introduced in 2004. XM’s CES “concept car” also will feature in-car video, parking spot locator technology and voice-enabled XM radios, officials said. EA had one other SKU in the top 10: The 360 version of Carbon at #10, up 3. Activision had 2 SKUs in the top 10: The PS2 and 360 versions of Call of Duty 3 at #4 and #8, up 4 and up 2, respectively, in the game’s 7th week.
