CBP is seeking comments for the proposed extension of its existing Passenger List/Crew List (CBP Form I-418) information collection, which it plans to submit to the Office of Management and Budget for review and approval. CBP proposes to extend the expiration date of this information collection with no change to the burden hours. Comments are due July 8.
ICE gave back an illegally smuggled dinosaur skeleton to the Government of Mongolia, it said in a press release. The Tyrannosaurus Bataar was seized by ICE Homeland Security Investigations after it sold at auction for $1.05 million, the agency said. The almost complete skeleton was illegally taken and smuggled out of Mongolia between 2005 and 2012, said ICE.
CBP is seeking comments by July 8, on the extension of an existing information collection, the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) Certificate of Origin. There are no changes to the information collected.
CBP offered advice to members of the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program on how to handle reports of suspicious activities, anomalies, and security breaches. C-TPAT members should report such issues prior to CBP discovery to avoid possible suspension, it said. "Reporting a breach would result in an immediate joint review of the totality of circumstances," it said.
