CBP provided further details on how importers of goods excluded from Section 232 tariffs on steel and aluminum can file entries and receive refunds, in a May 21 CSMS message. "Importers and filers importing products granted an exclusion should submit the product exclusion number based on the last six digits of the product exclusion docket number," CBP said. Filers should not "submit the corresponding Chapter 99 HTS number for the Section 232 duties when the product exclusion number is submitted," the agency said.

In the May 16 Customs Bulletin (Vol. 52, No. 20), CBP published notices that propose to revoke rulings and similar treatment for wireless speakers and pipe fittings.
CBP is seeking comments by July 17 on an existing information collection related to foreign-trade zones, it said in a notice. CBP proposes to extend the expiration date of this information collection with no changes.
CBP posted its May 14 notice of investigation sent to two New York companies related to allegations of antidumping and countervailing duty evasion for aluminum extrusions from China. The investigation stems from allegations filed under the Enforce and Protect Act (EAPA) by the Aluminum Extrusions Fair Trade Committee regarding Sun Bright International Corporation and Fair Importing Corporation (see 1805160018).
CBP provided an update "on remaining annual quota quantities for Korean steel imports as of May 7" in QB 18-120. A May 14 quota status report lists three additional Korean steel quota categories that were filled since May 7, bringing the total number of filled quotas to 12.
