Clear Terms

Search Primer

Term list: Separate terms with spaces, not commas or semicolons.

Multi-word term: Place inside quotes to ensure an exact match (e.g. "China import").

Acronyms: Use all capital letters to ensure the search is not looking for that letter sequence instead.

Required term: If a term must be included in any resulting articles, prefix it with a plus sign (e.g., +CBP).

Excluded term: If a term should be excluded from any articles being found, prefix it with a minus sign (e.g., -ruling).

Singular form: Always use the singular form when doing multi-word terms (e.g. "russian export control" instead of "russian export controls").

Shortest word form: When you have different word forms in a quoted (multi-word) term, you want to only include the shortest version if it is the last part of the expression (e.g., "entity list" instead of "entity listing" or "entity listed").

CBP to Allow Additional Day for Payment Due to ACE Outage

CBP will allow for an additional day for payment after a power outage brought down ACE, the agency said in a CSMS message. "CBP’s Office of Trade, Commercial Operations, Revenue and Entry Division is granting an additional day for payment (snow day) as appropriate for entry summaries and statements due on Thursday, June 6, 2019 which may be presented and paid on Friday, June 7, 2019 without penalty," the agency said.

CBP to Restart Inactive IOR Number Voiding Program Next Week
June 6, 2019 |Customs

CBP plans to start voiding inactive importer-of-record numbers next week, an agency official said during a June 6 conference call. CBP began a similar effort last year, which resulted in many active IOR numbers being voided by mistake. There will be about 20,000 IOR numbers in the next batch, all of which are in inactive status, the official said.
