CBP New York/Newark released information in a pipeline notice showing the "cycle time measurement" of Centralized Examination Stations from Oct. 1, 2012 through March 31. The cycle times refer to the time from ocean container arrivals through final examination completion.
CBP is extending the comment period to July 25 on an existing information collection on the U.S.-Caribbean Basin Trade Partnership Act (CBTPA) regulations. CBP proposes to extend the expiration date of this information collection with a change to the burden hours.
CBP released its June 19 Customs Bulletin (Vol. 47, No. 26). While the Bulletin does not contain any ruling articles, it does include recent Court of International Trade decisions.

CBP set 2 percent for corporations and 3 percent for non-corporations as the quarterly Internal Revenue Service interest rates used to calculate interest on overdue accounts (underpayments) and refunds (overpayments) of customs duties, it said in a notice. The interest rate for underpayments will be 3 percent for both corporations and non-corporations, it said.
