CBP reminded importers that the period for Food and Drug Administration food facility registration renewal ended Dec. 31, said CBP in a CSMS message (here). As of Jan. 1, goods from a foreign food facility is required to register with the FDA, but failed to do so, may be held.
Nancy Becker, a senior manager in CBP's Laredo office, retires this month, the agency said in a press release (here). Becker, assistant director of field operations, Trade Operations, also worked as the director of the Machinery Center of Excellence and Expertise during her 37 years with the federal government.
