CBP issued the following releases on commercial trade and related issues:
A year-long collaboration between CBP and ICE Homeland Security Investigations, the U.S. Postal Service and other law enforcement resulted in seizures of some 325,000 fake professional sports items, said ICE in a press release (here). The effort, called Operation Team Player, began after the last Super Bowl, said ICE. "Special agents from HSI and officers with CBP worked with sports leagues and law enforcement agencies throughout the nation to identify illegal shipments imported into the U.S., as well as stores and vendors selling counterfeit trademarked items," it said. There's been 52 related arrests so far, the agency said.

The Customs Rulings Online Search System (CROSS) was updated Jan. 28 (here) with 107 rulings, bringing the total number of searchable rulings to 185,321. The most recent ruling is dated 1/27/15.
CBP and ICE's Homeland Security Investigations seized $2.45 million worth of illegally imported Chinese honey in Houston since October, said ICE in a press release (here). The seized illicit honey totaled 660 barrels, weighing 448,156 pounds. The shipping documents indicated the bulk honey originated in Latvia, said ICE.
CBP will add some new supported forms within the third phase of its Document Image System (DIS) pilot in the Automated Commercial Environment, said CBP in a notice (here). DIS allows for electronic submission of documents during the import process required by multiple agencies. The agency began the third phase last year (see 14062419).
