CBP issued the following releases on commercial trade and related matters:
CBP is requesting comments by March 28 on an existing information collection for prior disclosures. CBP proposes (here) to extend the expiration date of this information collection without a change to the burden hours or information collected.
CBP levied about $45.5 million in penalties for violations of antidumping and countervailing duty orders on steel during fiscal year 2015, the agency said (here). CBP also conducted over 7,200 entry summary reviews of steel imports for AD/CVD issues and seized over $900,000 worth of steel products during the year, it said. CBP pointed to the enforcement results as a product of collaboration with the steel industry. Among other efforts, CBP "partners with the steel industry to educate CBP personnel and steel industry members by developing seminars that explain how AD/CVD enforcement can best be implemented in the current trade environment," it said.
The following customs broker licenses and all associated permits are revoked for failure to employ a licensed broker, said CBP in a notice (here).
