CBP will allow for another 30 days for comments on the agency's proposal to collect information related to ACE protest filer accounts (see 1606130012), CBP said in a notice (here). CBP will require data on the organization, the ACE account owner and points of contact for protest filer accounts, it said.
A listing of recent antidumping and countervailing duty messages from the Commerce Department posted to CBP's website Aug. 19, along with the case number(s) and CBP message number, is provided below. CBP issued the following releases on commercial trade and related matters:
CBP posted its fiscal year 2016 Byrd Amendment (the Continued Dumping and Subsidy Offset Act of 2000 (CDSOA)) certifications report (here). This report provides information on the claimant name, case name and case number. Certifications listed on the report do not indicate validity of certification, CBP said.
In the Aug. 17 issue of the CBP Customs Bulletin (Vol. 50, No. 33) (here), CBP published a notice that proposes to modify rulings and similar treatment for the classification of hole saw kits for door lockset installation.
CBP issued a final rule to reflect an import ban on jadeite and rubies from Myanmar (here). The final rule "merely removes expired statutory requirements and inserts the new legal authority for the continuing import prohibition," the agency said. A 2013 Executive Order reimposed the prohibition (see 13080803).
CBP posted a new guide for creating protest filer accounts in ACE and submitting protests (here). Protests filed electronically must be filed through ACE starting Aug. 27 (see 1608080015).
A listing of recent antidumping and countervailing duty messages from the Commerce Department posted to CBP's website Aug. 18, along with the case number(s) and CBP message number, is provided below. CBP issued the following releases on commercial trade and related matters:
CBP will begin enforcing on Nov. 28 the mandatory filing of type 06 foreign-trade zone entries and entry summaries with Animal Plant and Health Inspection Service Lacey Act data in ACE via the partner government agency (PGA) message set, though such data has technically been required since May 28, CBP said in an update to its list of ACE pilot statuses (here). A previous status update had said the mandatory date itself was Nov. 28, which appeared to conflict with CBP’s ACE schedule (see 1608120029).
