Clear Terms

Search Primer

Term list: Separate terms with spaces, not commas or semicolons.

Multi-word term: Place inside quotes to ensure an exact match (e.g. "China import").

Acronyms: Use all capital letters to ensure the search is not looking for that letter sequence instead.

Required term: If a term must be included in any resulting articles, prefix it with a plus sign (e.g., +CBP).

Excluded term: If a term should be excluded from any articles being found, prefix it with a minus sign (e.g., -ruling).

Singular form: Always use the singular form when doing multi-word terms (e.g. "russian export control" instead of "russian export controls").

Shortest word form: When you have different word forms in a quoted (multi-word) term, you want to only include the shortest version if it is the last part of the expression (e.g., "entity list" instead of "entity listing" or "entity listed").

CBP Testing Processes to Allow for Earlier Corrections of AD/CVD Entry Errors, COAC Says

CBP is continuing work with a “pool of entry filers” to test automated processes “that can help entry filers identify potential errors” related to antidumping and countervailing duties, Commercial Customs Operations Advisory Committee member Matt Zehner said at the COAC’s March 29 meeting in Seattle. The processes could potentially allow the trade to correct entries with AD/CVD at a “much earlier stage in the process,” Zehner said. The COAC and CBP also are discussing how the trade community could be better informed with AD/CVD orders requiring an importer certification, and are looking to “facilitate the entry filing of that certification” so that the certifications are “evident in ACE,” he said.

CBP Issues Harmonized System Update
March 29, 2023 |Customs

CBP created Harmonized System Update (HSU) 2305 on March 27, containing 24 ABI records and 5 Harmonized Tariff Schedule records. This update includes increased duties on certain articles from the Russian Federation and changes to HTS flagging, CBP said in a March 28 CSMS message.
