The Commerce Department issued its final determination in its antidumping duty investigation of sol gel alumina-based ceramic abrasive grains from China (A-570-190). The notice takes effect Aug. 15, but AD cash deposit rates are unchanged in this final determination.

The Commerce Department issued notices in the Federal Register on its recently initiated antidumping duty investigations on freight rail couplers and parts thereof from the Czech Republic (A-851-806) and India (A-533-940), as well as its countervailing duty investigation on freight rail couplers from India (C-533-941). The CVD investigation covers entries in calendar year 2024. The AD investigations cover entries July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025.

The Commerce Department is beginning new antidumping duty investigations on certain freight rail couplers and parts thereof imported from the Czech Republic and India, as well as a countervailing duty investigation on freight rail couplers from India, it said in a fact sheet released Aug. 13. The underlying petition was filed in July (see 2507240022). The International Trade Commission is scheduled to make its preliminary injury determination by Sept. 8. The investigation will continue only if the ITC finds injury. International Trade Today will provide more details upon publication of the initiation notices in the Federal Register.
