CSMS # 63754342 - Electronic Export Manifest (EEM) Appendix J – Response Code – Ocean Severity Update – Informational to Fatal
Electronic Export Manifest (EEM) implemented three (3) validations to promote accurate formatting in the EEM party details and Destination Country.
The validations were made available in Certification October 8, 2024. They were made available in Production October 22, 2024, and initially set to INFORMATIONAL.
Starting January 21, 2025, the validations will be set to FATAL in Production. EEM submissions will be rejected until the message is corrected. Technical guidance can be found in the EEM Implementation Guides (IGs).
640— MISSING SH PARTY INFO— B/L Shipper party information is missing
641— MISSING CN/UC PARTY INFO— Both B/L Consignee and Ultimate Consignee party information are missing. Need provide at the least one of them.
642— INVALID DEST CTRY CODE— B/L Consignee/Ultimate Consignee party info country code is not provided or is not valid.
Also, Response Code 007 – Invalid Cargo Info was activated to require a cargo description be included. A description of empty shall be entered when there is no cargo description.
