Search Primer

Term list: Separate terms with spaces, not commas or semicolons.

Multi-word term: Place inside quotes to ensure an exact match (e.g. "China import").

Acronyms: Use all capital letters to ensure the search is not looking for that letter sequence instead.

Required term: If a term must be included in any resulting articles, prefix it with a plus sign (e.g., +CBP).

Excluded term: If a term should be excluded from any articles being found, prefix it with a minus sign (e.g., -ruling).

Singular form: Always use the singular form when doing multi-word terms (e.g. "russian export control" instead of "russian export controls").

Shortest word form: When you have different word forms in a quoted (multi-word) term, you want to only include the shortest version if it is the last part of the expression (e.g., "entity list" instead of "entity listing" or "entity listed").

CBP Lists More than 70 Vendors of ABI, ISF, ACE, Etc., Data Processing Services

Customs and Border Protection's Office of Information and Technology said it assembled a list of companies/persons offering data processing services to the trade community for the Automated Broker Interface (ABI). It said inclusion on the list doesn't constitute any form of an endorsement by CBP about the nature, extent or quality of the services that may be provided.

ACE Reports Now Up to Date, Says CBP

U.S. Customs and Border Protection said April 21, 2012, that a data load has completed that affected all Entry Summary reports, all Declaration reports (under the Account Management folder), and AD-8027 (Trade Aged Liquidation ADCVD Entry Summary Report). These reports now contain the most up-to-date data. CBP said April 20, 2012 that some of those ACE Reports did not contain the most up to date data.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection said April 20, 2012, that some ACE Reports do not contain the most up to date data. The affected reports include: all Entry Summary reports, all Declaration reports (under the Account Management folder), and AD-8027 (Trade Aged Liquidation ADCVD Entry Summary Report). The data load is continuing to run and CBP anticipates reports to be up to date by April 21, 2012 at 0800 EDT (8am). A subsequent message will be distributed when the data load is complete.

A recently released U.S. Customs and Border Protection February 23 Implementation Guide for Messaging Interface between International Trade Data System Trade Partners and the CBP Document Image System (DIS) for importers and brokers provides extensive technical details on the messaging processes. The document, numbered ITDS-DIS-IG-1.2.6, says For Official Use Only. CBP recently began the first phase of DIS testing for Importers and Brokers using ACE.
