CBP is requesting comments by Aug. 19 on an existing information collection used to request distribution of Continued Dumping and Subsidy Offset Act funds. CBP proposes to extend the expiration date of this information collection with a change to the burden hours.
CBP will seek signatures from Border Interagency Executive Council (BIEC) members on June 18 on a letter of intent meant to solidify outside agency engagement of a CBP-developed road map for continuing the "One U.S. Government at the Border" initiative, said CBP Executive Director for Trade Policy and Programs at the American Association of Exporters and Importers conference June 17. The letter of intent will give a broad outline of the council's goals, he said.
CBP's Chief Counsel Alfonso Robles recently retired, according to a former agency official. Scott Falk, previously deputy chief counsel, is now in that role in an acting capacity, the former official said. CBP did not comment.
CBP plans to hold a webinar at 2 p.m. June 20 to update the trade on the benefits of the Centers of Excellence and Expertise and trade transformation, the agency said in a CSMS message. The webinar will feature Maria Luisa Boyce, senior advisor for private sector engagement from CBP’s Office of Trade Relations and Allen Gina, the assistant commissioner of CBP’s Office of International Trade, it said. The webinar also will share information on key programs related to security and trade facilitation including the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE), Customs—Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), and Importer Self-Assessment (ISA). Agency officials will also discuss the Base Metals Center of Excellence and Expertise and providing several key steps of the transition to the CEE.

CBP has resolved the issue with processing some application Identifier PN (Periodic Daily Statement Debit Authorizations and/or Entry Summary Acceptance) transactions in district 27 (Los Angeles), it said in a CSMS message. A June 10 CSMS message had reported delays in processing district 27 PN transactions that caused a new June Periodic Monthly Statement number to be generated (see 13061212).
CBP issued its weekly tariff rate quota and tariff preference level commodity report as of June 10. This report includes TRQs on various products such as beef, sugar, dairy products, peanuts, cotton, cocoa products, and tobacco; and certain BFTA, DR-CAFTA, Israel FTA, JFTA, MFTA, OFTA, SFTA, UAFTA (AFTA) and UCFTA (Chile FTA) non-textile TRQs etc. Each report also includes the AGOA, ATPDEA, BFTA, DR-CAFTA, CBTPA, Haitian HOPE, MFTA, NAFTA, OFTA, SFTA, and UCFTA TPLs and TRQs for qualifying textile articles and/or other articles; the TRQs on worsted wool fabrics, etc.
CBP Los Angeles Field Operations provided updated information on the commodities and personnel assigned to import specialist and entry teams at the Los Angeles/Long Beach Seaport, in Public Bulletin No. LA13-021. The guide lists the merchandise assignments, supervisor names and telephone numbers of the LA/LB import specialist and entry teams in effect as of June 2. The updated list should be used as a supplement to Bulletin LA13-016, issued in November, said CBP L.A. The changes are being made to align assignments with the new electronics Center for Excellence and Expertise, it said. A complete updated commodity list will be issued at a later date, CBP said.
