The CBP system that transmits bill matches for Importer Security Filing (ISF) submissions was disrupted on July 22, and bill matches did not appropriately transmit to trade participants, CBP said. The service was restarted on July 25, but CBP later determined that multiple ISF submissions in the queue during the disruption continued to experience problems and did not receive bill matches. These subsequent issues were resolved and the backlog has been caught up as of Aug. 1, CBP said. Those who filed an ISF and should have received a bill match should contact their assigned Client Representative.
In the July 31 issue of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Bulletin (Vol. 47, No. 32), CBP published two notices of revocation of rulings and treatment regarding wetted aluminum powder and MP3 player docking stations with built-in radios.

CBP extended the comment period by 30 days for the proposed extension of its existing Passenger List/Crew List (CBP Form I-418) information collection, which it plans to submit to the Office of Management and Budget for review and approval. CBP proposes to extend the expiration date of this information collection with no change to the burden hours.
CBP and the General Administration of Customs, People’s Republic of China (GACC) announced results from the first joint intellectual property rights (IPR) enforcement operation between the U.S. and China on July 31, CBP said. The month-long operation resulted in the seizure of over 243,000 counterfeit consumer electronic products from popular trademarks including Apple, Blackberry and Samsung. CBP said the operation also resulted in an arrest by local law enforcement of a U.S. citizen who repeatedly imported counterfeit Beats by Dr. Dre headphones and sold them on Craigslist.
