CBP extended the comment period by 30 days for an existing information collection on applications for exportation under special bond. CBP proposes to extend the expiration date of this information collection with a change to the burden hours.
CBP's plans to "integrate" its Laboratory and Scientific Services (LSS) into the Centers of Excellence and Expertise will not include an organizational restructuring, said a CBP spokesman. CBP recently described the "LSS integration into the CEE" in a presentation for a Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America conference (see 13102427).

James Sullivan was selected as Assistant Port Director, Tactical Operations for the Seattle Port, said CBP's Seattle Field Office in a trade information notice. Sullivan previously was the border security coordinator for the Seattle Field Office, the notice said.
Pharmaceutical importers in the U.S. should not use transaction value for an appraisement in certain cases where the shipped products are made and owned by a related party, CBP said in a recently released ruling, dated Aug. 15. CBP's binding ruling, HQ H242509, weighed in on the correct method of appraisement for four scenarios where a U.S. pharmaceutical company imports products under tolling arrangements. The agency reviewed the scenarios at the request of a U.S. manufacturer and pharmaceutical importer, which requested confidentiality.

CBP issued its weekly tariff rate quota and tariff preference level commodity report as of Oct. 28. This report includes TRQs on various products such as beef, sugar, dairy products, peanuts, cotton, cocoa products, and tobacco; and certain BFTA, DR-CAFTA, Israel FTA, JFTA, MFTA, OFTA, SFTA, UAFTA (AFTA) and UCFTA (Chile FTA) non-textile TRQs, etc. Each report also includes the AGOA, ATPDEA, BFTA, DR-CAFTA, CBTPA, Haitian HOPE, MFTA, NAFTA, OFTA, SFTA, and UCFTA TPLs and TRQs for qualifying textile articles and/or other articles; the TRQs on worsted wool fabrics, etc.
