Clear Terms

Search Primer

Term list: Separate terms with spaces, not commas or semicolons.

Multi-word term: Place inside quotes to ensure an exact match (e.g. "China import").

Acronyms: Use all capital letters to ensure the search is not looking for that letter sequence instead.

Required term: If a term must be included in any resulting articles, prefix it with a plus sign (e.g., +CBP).

Excluded term: If a term should be excluded from any articles being found, prefix it with a minus sign (e.g., -ruling).

Singular form: Always use the singular form when doing multi-word terms (e.g. "russian export control" instead of "russian export controls").

Shortest word form: When you have different word forms in a quoted (multi-word) term, you want to only include the shortest version if it is the last part of the expression (e.g., "entity list" instead of "entity listing" or "entity listed").

The messages are available by searching for the listed CBP message number at addcvd.cbp.gov. (CBP occasionally adds backdated messages without otherwise indicating which message was added. ITT will include a message date in parentheses in such cases.)

CBP Removes FY 2012 AD/CV Enforcement Stats

CBP pulled down its AD/CV enforcement statistics for FY 2012 that were recently posted on the agency's website. The statistics, previously found (here), are no longer available. CBP didn't respond to a request for comment about the removal. This was the first year CBP tracked such statistics and it will continue to do so in the future, a CBP spokeswoman said when the statistics were initially released.

CBP Issues CF 1400, CF 1401 Reports for Feb. 4

CBP posted a Feb. 4 version of its CF 1400 (Record of Vessel in Foreign Trade Entrances) electronic query report of the Vessel Management System (VMS), in accordance with 19 CFR 4.95, organized by entrances. CBP also posted a version of its CF 1401 (Record of Vessel in Foreign Trade Clearances) electronic query report of the VMS, in accordance with 19 CFR 4.95, organized by clearances.

Port of Seattle Seeks CES Applications

CBP's Port of Seattle issued a Trade Information Notice soliciting applications to operate a Centralized Examination Station (CES) for the Seattle and Tacoma ports. The solicitation period began Feb. 4 and expires April 4. Public comments are also invited. Email ITTNews@warren-news.com for a copy of TIN No. 13-03.

CBP's Weekly TRQ/TPL Commodity Graph Report as of Feb. 4

CBP issued its weekly tariff rate quota and tariff preference level commodity report as of Feb. 4. This report includes TRQs on various products such as beef, sugar, dairy products, peanuts, cotton, cocoa products, and tobacco; and certain BFTA, DR-CAFTA, Israel FTA, JFTA, MFTA, OFTA, SFTA, UAFTA (AFTA) and UCFTA (Chile FTA) non-textile TRQs etc. Each report also includes the AGOA, ATPDEA, BFTA, DR-CAFTA, CBTPA, Haitian HOPE, MFTA, NAFTA, OFTA, SFTA, and UCFTA TPLs and TRQs for qualifying textile articles and/or other articles; the TRQs on worsted wool fabrics, etc.

CBP to Move OIT's Regulations and Rulings Division to New Office

The CBP Regulations and Ruling Division within the Office of International Trade will move office space to 90 K Street, NE, Washington, DC 20229, said CBP. All correspondence for the division , including mailed comments regarding section 1625 modifications or revocations, should be sent to the new address as of Feb. 6, said CBP. The phone number will remain the same, the agency said.
