Clear Terms

Search Primer

Term list: Separate terms with spaces, not commas or semicolons.

Multi-word term: Place inside quotes to ensure an exact match (e.g. "China import").

Acronyms: Use all capital letters to ensure the search is not looking for that letter sequence instead.

Required term: If a term must be included in any resulting articles, prefix it with a plus sign (e.g., +CBP).

Excluded term: If a term should be excluded from any articles being found, prefix it with a minus sign (e.g., -ruling).

Singular form: Always use the singular form when doing multi-word terms (e.g. "russian export control" instead of "russian export controls").

Shortest word form: When you have different word forms in a quoted (multi-word) term, you want to only include the shortest version if it is the last part of the expression (e.g., "entity list" instead of "entity listing" or "entity listed").

CBP Weekly TRQ/TPL Commodity Graph Report and Threshold to Fill List as of Aug. 31

CBP issued its weekly tariff rate quota and tariff preference level commodity report as of Aug. 31. This report (here) includes TRQs on various products such as beef, sugar, dairy products, peanuts, cotton, cocoa products, and tobacco; and certain BFTA, DR-CAFTA, Israel FTA, JFTA, MFTA, OFTA, SFTA, UAFTA (AFTA) and UCFTA (Chile FTA) non-textile TRQs, etc. Each report also includes the AGOA, ATPDEA, BFTA, DR-CAFTA, CBTPA, Haitian HOPE, MFTA, NAFTA, OFTA, SFTA, and UCFTA TPLs and TRQs for qualifying textile articles and/or other articles; the TRQs on worsted wool fabrics, etc.

CBP Seeking ITDS CPSC Working Group Participants

CBP is putting together a Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) import working group to consider the technical requirements necessary for CPSC to take part in the International Trade Data System, said CBP in a CSMS message (here). The working group, to be part of the Trade Support Network, "will consist of members of the international trade community, including trade software developers that offer import commodities into the United States that are subject to CPSC’s jurisdiction," and representatives from CPSC and CBP, it said. Those interested in participating should email Frank Korpusik at frank.j.korpusik@cbp.dhs.gov by Sept. 4, said CBP.
