CBP said it created Harmonized System Update (HSU) 1615 on Dec. 21, containing 813 ABI records and 166 harmonized tariff records (here). Modifications include changes to statistical suffixes and changes required by presidential proclamation. Adjustments were made to several partner government agency indicators as well. CBP appointed LaFonda Sutton-Burke port director of the Los Angeles/Long Beach Seaport, it said in a bulletin. Sutton-Burke was most recently director of non-intrusive inspection at CBP Cargo and Conveyance Security. She is expected to report Jan. 9, CBP said.

Participating importers in the Centers of Excellence and Expertise pilot programs will "continue to be handled on an account basis at their designated Center" after the pilots end, CBP said in a CSMS message (here). The pilot programs are scheduled to end on Jan. 19, when a rule implementing regulations for the CEEs takes effect (see 1612190014).
