The Customs Rulings Online Search System (CROSS) was updated Feb. 13 (here) with 50 rulings. The most recent ruling is dated Feb. 13.
CBP plans to hold the West Coast Trade Symposium May 24-25 in Scottsdale, Arizona, the agency said in an email. CBP will provide more information once it is available, it said.
CBP published the quarterly Internal Revenue Service interest rates used to calculate interest on overdue accounts (underpayments) and refunds (overpayments) of customs duties (here). For the quarter which began Jan. 1 and ends March 31, the interest rates for overpayments will be 3 percent for corporations and 4 percent for non-corporations, and the rate for underpayments will be 4 percent for corporations and non-corporations. These interest rates are subject to change for the calendar quarter beginning April 1 and ending June 30, CBP said.

CBP recently "discovered that ACE may be increasing the number of late file cases due to a glitch," a CBP spokeswoman said. The National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America first mentioned the issue in a Feb. 13 email to members. CBP told the NCBFAA that it "is investigating the increase in 'late payment' penalties being issued," according to the trade group. "The Fines, Penalties, and Forfeitures (FP&F) field offices have been notified to thoroughly research liquidated damages claims before issuing to ensure that systems-caused late files are not subjected to claims," the NCBFAA said. "CBP will also review previously issued penalties and where warranted, cancel."
