CBP’s response to a March executive order on collecting antidumping and countervailing duties is "on hold" with the Department of Homeland Security, a CBP spokeswoman said in a July 17 email. The executive order directed DHS to develop plans by June 29 to require importers deemed a risk to U.S. revenue to “provide security” for AD and CV duty liability through bonds and “other legal measures,” among other things (see 1704030033). A CBP official said in May that the agency, which is leading the effort, was considering several paths (see 1705240060).
