CBP Commissioner Kevin McAleenan was named acting secretary of the Department of Homeland Security after DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen resigned, President Donald Trump said in an April 7 tweet. The move may mean CBP Deputy Commissioner Robert Perez will move up to the acting commissioner capacity, but there's been no official announcement from CBP. The agency didn't comment.
