CBP is seeking comments by Nov. 20 on existing information collection requests for foreign-trade zone annual reconciliation certification and record-keeping requirements, exportation of articles under special bond, cost submissions and entry of articles for exhibition, it said in notices published in the Oct. 21 Federal Register. CBP proposes to extend the expiration date of these information collections with no change to the burden hours or the information collected.
In the Oct. 14 Customs Bulletin (Vol. 54, No. 40), CBP published notices that propose to revoke rulings and similar treatment for windshield cleaning devices and foil print fabric.

A CBP review of system issues for customs broker exam takers found few cases of reduced time, the agency said in a CSMS message. CBP recently said there were reports of problems with the electronic test on Oct. 8 (see 2010150034). “A thorough investigation was conducted and it was determined that there was no time lost for the majority of [Customs Broker License Examination] testers,” it said. “This means the majority of testers, regardless of delays[,] had access to the exam for the timeframe allotted.”

CBP personnel at the Los Angeles/Long Beach Seaport stopped a shipment of 32 cartons of women's leather gloves from China’s Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region “suspected to have been manufactured using forced labor,” the agency said in an Oct. 15 news release. The gloves were subject to the Withhold Release Order on apparel made by Yili Zhuowan Garment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and Baoding LYSZD Trade and Business Co., Ltd (see 2009140040).
