Several ports of unlading code names were updated or added in the Automated Export System Aug. 27, the Census Bureau said in an email to industry. AES updated the port in Nigpo, China (Port Code 57020), and added ports in Ras Al-Khair, Saudi Arabia (Port Code 51722), Tuna, India (Port Code 53308), and Zhoushan, China (Port Code 57023).
The Census Bureau this week alerted export filers about a name change to a license code in the Automated Export System that reflects a new semiconductor-related export license exception introduced by the Bureau of Industry and Security earlier this year. The AES change revises the name of License Code C68 to “Advanced Computing Authorized (ACA) (NO notification required),” according to an Aug. 21 email from Census and a CBP CSMS message.
The Census Bureau emailed tips this week on how to address the most frequent messages generated this month in the Automated Export System.
CBP will launch “enhancements” to the Document Image System on Sep. 28 to help improve data submissions of electronic documents for exported vehicles, the agency said in an Aug. 19 notice and CSMS message.

The State Department is seeking public comments on four information collections from the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, the agency said in a notice this week. The U.K. on Sept. 17 is planning to launch a public beta version of its new digital export licensing system, Licensing for International Trade (LITE), the country announced this week. The country has been allowing certain exporters to use the system as a “private beta,” but starting next month any exporter will be able to use LITE to apply for a standard individual export license (SIEL).
CBP is alerting traders, including those participating in the rail electronic export manifest pilot, that they may soon start seeing new ACE errors if they don’t input necessary Facilities Information and Resource Management System (FIRMS) codes for certain in-bond shipments, the agency said in a pair of Aug. 6 CSMS messages.

The Fish and Wildlife Service has added the longfin smelt (Spirinchus thaleichthys), a fish species found off the Pacific Coast, to the list of endangered and threatened wildlife. The designation, and resulting import and export restrictions, will be effective Aug. 29, it said in a notice.
