The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) extended the deadline for written, public comments on Special 301 Out-of-Cycle Review of Notorious Markets to Oct. 25. The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service is proposing to allow the importation of fresh potatoes (Solanum tuberosum L.) from Mexico into the U.S., it said in a Federal Register notice scheduled for Sept. 27. The potatoes would have to be produced in accordance with a systems approach employing a combination of mitigation measures to prevent the introduction and dissemination of plant pests into the U.S., it said.

The carriers are lining up content deals, and Verizon expects to deliver the Super Bowl to subscribers in February, CEO Lowell McAdam said. AT&T will begin deployments by mid-2014 and expects the service will “mature to scale” within three years, AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson told us.
