Rebar: Prelim CVD Cash Deposit Rates Take Effect for Algeria, Egypt and Vietnam
The Commerce Department is setting new countervailing duty cash deposit requirements for imports of steel concrete reinforcing bar from Algeria (C-721-002), Egypt (C-729-806) and Vietnam (C-552-854), after finding countervailable subsidization of producers from the three countries, in the preliminary determinations of its CVD investigation. Suspension of liquidation and cash deposit requirements will take effect for entries on or after Jan. 13, the date that the preliminary determinations are scheduled to be published in the Federal Register.

Liquidation is already suspended for Algerian rebar since Dec. 19, after Commerce set antidumping duty cash deposit requirements in its concurrent AD investigation (see 2512180038). Commerce also is conducting AD investigations on rebar from Egypt and Vietnam, as well as Bulgaria, though its preliminary determinations in those investigations aren't due until March 9.
CVD Suspension of Liquidation and Cash Deposit Requirements
Commerce will instruct CBP to suspend liquidation for CVD purposes for all entries of subject merchandise from Algeria, Egypt and Vietnam or after Jan. 13. It will require CVD cash deposits at the following rates:
