  • CBP agriculture specialists at eight South Texas ports of entry intercepted 88,060 items of quarantine animal and plant material and 1,791 pests in FY 2025, which ran from Oct. 1, 2024, to Sept. 30, 2025, the agency said in a recent news release. CBP also said the ports seized 71,733 pounds of narcotics that would have commanded a combined estimated street value of nearly $674 million. This includes narcotics ferried by non-freight sources (here).
