Lawmakers Urge Adding DeepSeek, Gotion to DOD’s 1260H List
House Select Committee on China Chairman John Moolenaar of Michigan and eight other congressional Republicans asked the Defense Department in a Dec. 18 letter to add 17 firms, including AI startup DeepSeek, to its 1260H List of Chinese military companies.

Other companies recommended for the list include lithium battery supplier Gotion, robotics firm Unitree and biotech company WuXi Apptec.
The firms suggested for the list “represent military-civil fusion contributors central to [China’s military] modernization, internal-security operations, and power-projection capabilities,” the lawmakers wrote. “Their designation under Section 1260H would directly support Congress’ intent that U.S. taxpayer funds not underwrite [China’s] military-industrial and internal-security or intelligence capabilities.”
The Pentagon declined to comment on the letter.
