- CBP officers at the Rochester, New York, port of entry recently seized several shipments of designer items that bore counterfeit trademarks and would have been worth $425,125 had the articles been genuine, according to a Dec. 5 news release. The items included watches, shoes, handbags and jewelry (here).
- On Dec. 2, officers with CBP's Office of Field Operations at the Rio Grande City International Bridge cargo facility in Texas intercepted $549,275 in alleged cocaine concealed in a commercial vehicle arriving from Mexico. The cocaine was contained in 18 packages weighing 41 pounds, CBP said (here).
- On Nov. 28, CBP officers in Cincinnati seized a shipment of 52 counterfeit designer watches from Colombia that were bound for a residence in Washington. The watches, bearing brand names such as Richard Mille, Rolex, Hublot, Cartier and Casio, would have had a combined manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $6.37 million had they been genuine (here).
