Treasury Says No License for Gunvor to Operate Lukoil's International Business
The Treasury Department won’t issue a license to Gunvor Corp. to operate Lukoil’s international energy business in the event of its sale, the agency said on social media last week. “As long as [Russian President Vladimir] Putin continues the senseless killings, the Kremlin’s puppet, Gunvor, will never get a license to operate and profit,” Treasury said.

Lukoil recently said that it had accepted an offer to sell its international business to Gunvor, contingent on Gunvor obtaining permission from the Office of Foreign Assets Control to operate it (see 2510300020). The U.S. announced sanctions on Lukoil on Oct. 22 (see 2510220050).
