Senator Renews Bill to Speed Up LNG Export Approval Process
Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, reintroduced a bill Oct. 23 that aims to expedite permits to export liquefied natural gas to non-sanctioned, non-free trade agreement countries. Applications to export LNG to these countries would go through the same accelerated approval process as free trade countries.

The Natural Gas Export Expansion Act, which Cruz previously introduced in the last Congress, was referred to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
Rep. Michael Cloud, R-Texas, introduced a companion bill in the House on Oct. 24. It was referred to that chamber's Energy and Commerce Committee.
