Reports: Trump Extends China Tariff Deadline to November
President Donald Trump will extend to November the deadline for tariffs on Chinese goods that were due to come into effect at midnight Aug. 12, multiple news outlets have reported.

According to The Wall Street Journal and CNBC, White House officials said that Trump signed an executive order extending the pause in force since May of the 125% reciprocal tariff rate for China. The White House didn't respond to our request for comment.
At a press conference on Aug. 11, Trump declined to answer a question about whether the pause would be extended: "We’ll see what happens." He then emphasized his good relations with China, and with President Xi Jinping specifically, saying "we’ve been dealing very nicely with China ... the relationship is very good with President Xi."
