Export Compliance Daily combines U.S. export control news, foreign border import regulation and policy developments into a single daily information service that reliably informs its trade professional readers about important current issues affecting their operations.
- Pursuant to the General Notice (90 FR 34665) published July 23, adjustments to certain customs user fees and corresponding limitations, as codified in 19 U.S.C. § 58c, will take effect on Oct. 1 (see 2507220003). These adjustments are being made in accordance with the Fixing America's Surface Transportation Act of 2015 (FAST Act). The main changes are: the Merchandise Processing Fee (MPF) ad valorem rate of 0.3464% will not change; the MPF minimum and maximum for formal entries (class code 499) will change, from $32.71 to $33.58, and from $634.62 to $651.50, respectively (here).
- Registration for the Oct. 22 Customs Broker License Exam (CBLE) will open Aug. 11 at 12:01 a.m. EDT and close Sept. 10 at 4:30 p.m. EDT (here).
- On July 15, the Commerce Department initiated its less-than-fair-value and countervailing duty investigations on “Oleoresin Paprika from India” (see 2507230011). These investigations have been assigned case numbers A-533-938 and C-533-939, respectively (here).
