  • An updated Automated Broker Interface (ABI) Software Vendors List has been posted on CBP's website. The list now includes a column for approved Global Business Identifier providers (here).
  • CBP officers with the Office of Field Operations at the Carmino Real International Bridge on March 19 intercepted more than $472,000 in cocaine after conducting an inspection of a tractor trailer at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry in Texas, the agency said in a March 21 release. A secondary inspection on the truck, which had been hauling a shipment of ceramic brick, led to the discovery of 16 packages containing a total of 35.4 pounds of alleged cocaine with a total estimated street value of $472,742 (here).
  • CBP officers at the Calexico cargo facility in California seized methamphetamine in two separate incidents, according to a March 21 release. On March 12, officers "observed irregularities in the [tractor-trailer] vehicle’s fuel tank" and eventually determined after a secondary inspection that there was liquid methamphetamine concealed in the fuel tank. A total of 962.31 pounds of diesel fuel was extracted from the vehicle’s fuel tank. On March 13, CBP officers conducted a secondary inspection of a tractor trailer and found seven duffle bags containing a total of 140 packages with an aggregate weight of 704.94 pounds. CBP officers tested the contents in the duffel bags and received positive results for methamphetamine, CBP said (here).
