Hearing Scheduled Next Week on Wash. Privacy Legislation with Private Right of Action
A Washington state privacy bill with a private right of action is scheduled for a first hearing on Feb. 4 at 10:30 a.m. PT in the House Technology Committee. Rep. Shelley Kloba (D) introduced HB-1671 on Tuesday.

Proposed language says “a controller shall limit the collection, processing, and transfer of personal data to what is strictly necessary” to provide a requested product or service or a “reasonably anticipated” communication.
