Brazil Updates List of Tariff-Exempt Capital, IT Goods

Brazil recently added 108 items and removed 883 items from its list of foreign capital goods and information technology and telecommunications goods subject to duty-free treatment under its Ex-Tarifario regime, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council reported April 8. The added goods are classified in Harmonized System chapters 84, 85, 86, 87, 89 and 90.

Brazil also added more than 200 items to its of goods exempt from the common external tariff it imposes as part of the South American trading bloc Mercosur, and it established or renewed tariff‑rate quotas on several goods, including certain printing ink, coffee makers and cellphone base station antennas.
