CBP Again Extends Deadline for DIS Filing Option Before EEM Mandate
CBP again extended a deadline to allow users more time to continue submitting certain documents through the Document Imaging System as it tries to convince more operators to participate in its Electronic Export Manifest pilot, the agency said in a March 18 emailed CSMS message. DIS will continue accepting submissions of “Form 1302A Cargo Declaration - Outbound with Commercial Form” through Oct. 1, CBP said. The deadline was previously April 1, and has been extended multiple times (see 2209200080, 2303130012 and 2309200022).

CBP again said it’s continuing to see “increased trade community participation” in the EEM pilot, and the extension will give users more time to "adequately program and test with their assigned CBP Client Representatives.” The agency said filers “currently programming and testing should work towards submitting 100 percent EEM" by Oct. 1.
CBP had offered DIS for electronic submissions of Form 1302A as an interim step prior to the development of a fully electronic export manifest (see 2207290035 and 2209150014).
