The committee tweeted Feb. 22 that the lawmakers met with President Tsai Ing-wen, President-elect Lai Ching-te and Foreign Minister Joseph Wu. "The two sides discussed strengthening U.S.-Taiwan ties as [Chinese Communist Party] aggression continues to grow," the committee said.

The delegation consists of Reps. Mike Gallagher, R-Wis., and Raja Krishnamoorthi, D-Ill., the committee’s chairman and ranking member, respectively, and Reps. Dusty Johnson, R-S.D., John Moolenaar, R-Mich., and Seth Moulton, D-Mass.

In a report released in December, the committee called on Congress to require the Biden administration to impose sanctions on China if it invades Taiwan (see 2312120050).
