Export Compliance Daily combines U.S. export control news, foreign border import regulation and policy developments into a single daily information service that reliably informs its trade professional readers about important current issues affecting their operations.

As head of the Office of the Chief Economist, Bown will work "to strengthen the Department’s ability to conduct economic analysis on high-priority issues, and to advance U.S. interests on foreign policy issues which have an economic dimension," the agency's announcement said.

Bown, who hosted a trade podcast, served in the White House’s Council of Economic Advisers from 2010 to 2011 and worked at the World Bank, advising member countries on international trade issues.
