Two CIT Judge Nominees Again Advance to Full Senate Hearing

Two nominees intended to fill judicial vacancies at the Court of International Trade will again be considered by the Senate after the chamber failed to approve them within the 2023 calendar year (see 2312220013).

At a Senate Judiciary Committee executive business meeting Jan. 18, they, along with a number of other judicial nominees, were again advanced toward approval by the full Senate. The nominees -- Lisa Wang, the assistant secretary of the Commerce Department for enforcement and compliance, and Joseph Laroski, a partner at the law firm Schagrin Associates -- were initially approved by the Judiciary Committee in September (see 2309140054).
