Siblings Admit to Trying to Smuggle Ammo to Mexico
Three siblings recently pleaded guilty to trying to smuggle ammunition from the U.S. to Mexico, DOJ announced last week. The agency said Rolando, Ashley and Yamileth Herrera worked together to buy thousands of rounds of ammunition from a sporting goods store before trying to ship the ammo to people in Mexico. All three are U.S. citizens with residences in Mexico.

Rolando Herrera pleaded guilty last week and his siblings pleaded guilty last month to buying, transporting and concealing ammunition intended to be smuggled into Mexico, DOJ said. Each faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 maximum fine. Rolando Herrera also faces up to 15 years in prison for an additional charge of conspiracy to smuggle ammunition with intent to promote a felony.
