Non-EU Countries Align With EU Sanctions on Myanmar, Guinea

European countries not in the EU aligned with two recent sanctions moves from the European Council concerning the situations in Myanmar and Guinea, the council announced.

On Oct. 26, the council extended the sanctions pertaining to Myanmar until April 30, 2024. The countries of North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Albania, Ukraine, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway also imposed the decision, the council said.

On Oct. 23, the council extended the sanctions pertaining to Guinea for another year, until Oct. 27, 2024. The countries of North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Albania, Ukraine, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Liechtenstein and Norway also imposed the decision, the council said.
